Osun guber: Adeleke maintains lead as IReV results reach 95.03%

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has continued to lead the Osun governorship election as results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) reached 95.03 per cent.

According to an analysis by Dataphyte, 3,576 polling unit results had been uploaded to the portal as of the time of filing this report, representing 95.03 per cent of the 3,763 polling units across Osun State.

Voters across the 30 local government areas of the state went to the polls on Saturday to choose the candidate who will govern Osun for the next four years.

The contest is headlined by incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Najeem Salaam.

Data available from the uploaded results showed Adeleke maintaining his advantage in the race with 505,332 votes, accounting for 52.37 per cent of the votes counted so far.

Oyebamiji trailed with 431,226 votes, representing 44.69 per cent, while Salaam polled 16,583 votes, equivalent to 1.72 per cent of the total votes reflected on the portal.
