The Executive Assistant to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Coordination, Kabiru Salami, has resigned with immediate effect.
Salami announced his resignation in a letter dated October 20, 2026, addressed to the governor through the Chief of Staff.
In the letter, Salami thanked Makinde for the opportunity to serve, describing his time in the administration as an honour and a humbling experience.
He said he remained committed to the peace, security and progress of Oyo State despite his decision to leave the position.
Salami’s resignation adds to the recent departures from Makinde’s cabinet and political circle.
Other recent exits from the governor’s administration include Segun Ogunwuyi, who resigned as Chief of Staff with effect from October 12, 2026, and Tara Adefope, who stepped down as Director-General of the Oyo State Due Process Office.
Makinde appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, to replace Ogunwuyi. In contrast, the governor appointed Aderonke Adedayo to head the Due Process Office, while retaining her role as Senior Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies.
Salami’s resignation comes amid the latest changes in the governor’s administration.
