Iyabo Ojo, the Nollywood actress, has attributed her youthful appearance to a fulfilling sex life and a mature relationship, rather than marital status.
The 48-year-old actress spoke during an appearance on The Morayo Show, hosted by Morayo Afolabi-Brown.
Ojo dismissed the idea that being single or married determines a woman’s radiance.
“We (single mothers) are happy. I think some married women are happy too. I don’t think it’s about being single or being married,” she said.
“I think it’s about the person that you’re with. Sex has a lot to do with a woman’s glow. I’m getting more than enough. Maybe those with marriage certificates aren’t getting enough.”
The actress also spoke about her relationship with talent manager Paulo Okoye, describing their relationship as one built on maturity, respect and mutual understanding.
Ojo said despite being busy with their individual careers, they make their relationship work by supporting each other.
“We’re two mature people and two very busy people, but the most important thing is to understand each other, to support each other, to be there for each other,” she said.
“We fight. We have our ups and downs. It’s normal, but the most important thing is that we respect each other. We respect our space and what we do, and we just move on with that.”
Paulo and Ojo’s relationship became public in December 2022.
In October 2023, the actress said she initially had reservations about being in a relationship with Paulo due to industry affiliations.
She said she later agreed to the relationship after confirming his marital status with colleagues.
Paulo is the founder of Upfront & Personal Global Management, a talent management company. He is the convener of One Africa Fest, the annual festival that celebrates talents across Africa.
