Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has placed his Commissioner For Works (Highway and Urban Roads), Izeze Yakubu Reuben, on Indefinite suspension over his involvement in a fracas during the recent Delta Central APC Stakeholders’ meeting in Effurun.
His suspension was announced through the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Kingsley Eze Emu, with immediate effect, in Asaba yesterday.
The SSG said the punitive action was to enable security agencies to carry out an unbiased investigation on the allegations, associating him with the assault on the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Mr. Simon Mudi (aka Temple), at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Effurun.
Broken bottles and planks were said to have been applied several times on the head of the said Temple, who was rushed and hospitalized at the emergency unit of an undisclosed clinic but recuperating.
