Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, has successfully passed the screening exercise conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja ahead of the party’s 2027 governorship primary in Lagos.
After the exercise on Saturday, Hamzat described the process as thorough, transparent, and in line with the party’s democratic standards.
He explained that the screening was carried out to confirm the accuracy of the documents and information submitted by all aspirants seeking to contest under the APC platform.

According to him, the committee carefully checked his credentials, work history, and public service experience. They also asked questions to better understand his background and responsibilities in government.
Hamzat said the panel requested additional clarification on parts of his professional record, which he provided during the session.
He expressed confidence in the APC’s internal process and said he remains committed to serving Lagos State and supporting its continued development.
The deputy governor added that leadership should focus on improving the lives of citizens and maintaining Lagos as a model of progress and good governance in Nigeria.Nigerian politics analysis
