Atlanta rapper Dequantes Lamar, better known professionally as Rich Homie Quan, has passed away at the age of 33.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed the news on Thursday, stating that Quan’s death was reported by Grady Memorial Hospital.

The cause and manner of his passing remain undetermined, and an autopsy is set for Friday, September 6.

Quan burst onto the hip-hop scene in 2013 with his debut single “Type of Way,” which peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

He was part of a new generation of rappers known for their intense emotion and passion in their music.

Quan collaborated with top artists such as Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Young Thug, and was considered a rising star in the industry.
