President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi, have sent tributes to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on the occasion of his 84th birthday.
In a release personally signed by the President and the First Lady, the first couple describes Adeboye as “one of our nation’s greatest gifts: a spiritual fortress, interceding for Nigeria and its people to God Almighty.”
“His humility is genuine and his wisdom runs deep beyond the ordinary. His contributions to our nation extend beyond the pulpit—where he ministers to souls—to philanthropy, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.

“We celebrate the grace of stewardship and leadership upon the life of Pastor Adeboye, fondly called Daddy G.O., as he marks his 84th birthday on March 2, 2026.
“We congratulate him and join his wife, Pastor Foluke, members of the RCCG, and the Body of Christ in gratitude to God for the General Overseer’s exceptional life of impact that transcends cultures and borders.
“We thank the Lord’s own servant for his unceasing prayers for our nation and commend his patriotic zeal, manifest determination and commitment to Nigeria’s progress”, the President wrote.
President Tinubu and his wife acknowledged the unique leadership role of the renowned clergyman, whose teachings over the past five decades continue to shape and transform lives across generations in the country and beyond.
“As Daddy G.O. celebrates this special day, we pray that God Almighty continue to bless him with good health and strength as he continues his good work in the Lord’s vineyard”, the President said.
How Pastor Adeboye has contributed to progress of Lagos – Sanwo-Olu
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has also congratulated the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on the occasion of his 84th birthday.
The governor described Adeboye, who clocks 84 on Monday, March 2, as a respected global preacher whose unblemished record of service in God’s kingdom over several decades has made him a role model to many religious leaders and Christians.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, also described the renowned clergyman as an epitome of honesty, dedication and service.
The Governor said Pastor Adeboye, who served as the second National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, has raised millions of committed followers of Jesus Christ within the Redeemed Christian Church of God and outside the church.
He said: “Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye is a true ambassador of God. He has been a blessing not just to the Redeemed Christian Church of God but also to us in Lagos State and the country.
Pastor Adeboye’s relentless prayers for Lagos State and wise counsel over the years have contributed in no small measure to the phenomenal progress the State has continued to witness.
“Daddy GO’, as Pastor Adeboye is popularly called, is one of the respected global evangelists who has contributed immensely to the propagation of the gospel at national and international levels, without any blemish or scandal. His devoted service in God’s vineyard has helped put Nigeria in the global spotlight as a land of spiritual exploits and greatness. “As Pastor E.A. Adeboye celebrates his 84th birthday, I pray that the Almighty God will grant him more grace and strength to continue to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and impact many lives positively,” he prayed.
