Psalm 23:1
“The LORD is my shepherd.”
God is not distant. He takes personal responsibility for our lives. Because He is our Shepherd, we do not lack.

Psalm 23:2
“He makes me lie down in green pastures… He leads me beside still waters.”
God leads us into rest and peace. He provides for us regardless of our behavior. We do not earn His care — He gives it because He is our Shepherd. His rod and staff guide and comfort us.

Psalm 23:3
“He refreshes my soul.”
God restores our inner life. He brings peace where there was emotional chaos.

1 Samuel 17:34–37
David protected his sheep from lions and bears. This points to Jesus, our Great Shepherd. Even when danger is already upon us, God steps in. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He rescues His sheep.

1 Peter 2:25
Even when sheep stray, the Shepherd goes looking for them. God is loving and faithful.

Daniel 6:22–27
God shut the mouths of the lions and lifted Daniel out unharmed. This shows that the Great Shepherd rescues His people and protects them completely.

Summary

The Great Shepherd:

            •          Provides

            •          Protects

            •          Restores

            •          Fights for us

            •          Rescues us in danger

The Lord is not only our God — He is our Great Shepherd.
