Romans 5:1 NLT:
“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.”
Our justification and peace with God are based on Christ’s accomplishments. Eternal life is a gracious gift from God. This gift ensures we are spared from God’s judgment. Many are unaware that salvation is a gift, not earned.
Romans 4:4 NLT
“When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned.”
The church often overlooks the concept of salvation as a gift. Clarifying the true nature of a gift is essential.
Salvation cannot be earned through deeds; it’s granted by grace. Reflect on personal motives: Are we trying to earn what is freely given? Note: This truth was divinely revealed.
Ephesians 2:8 NLT
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”
Salvation delivers us from judgment. We receive eternal life through faith alone. Our actions do not contribute to this gift.
Consider how transformative it is to truly embrace this gift.
1 John 5:10–12 NLT
“All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true… Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.”
The New Testament is a testament to Christ’s gift of eternal life.
John 10:27–28 NLT
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me.”
Romans 8:15–16 NLT
“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children… For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.”
Despite our sins, we are adopted as God’s children. Religious systems may try to control, but true faith sets free.
Reflect: Can anything revoke this divine gift?
Romans 11:29 NLT
“For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.”
God’s gifts are irrevocable.
Romans 6:18–19 NLT
“Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living…”
Prayer should not replace scriptural understanding. Jesus emphasised enlightened comprehension.
Prioritise God’s Word in your spiritual walk.
Deep scriptural insight strengthens prayer.
Isaiah 44:22 NLT
“I have swept away your sins like a cloud… return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free.”
Accepting Christ is accepting His gift of salvation. This acceptance invites the Holy Spirit to dwell in us.
Galatians 3:2 NLT:
“Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ.”
