…Declares church’s Lagos-Ibadan Seminary sole approved institution
The Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, His Eminence Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, has issued a strong warning against the operation of unauthorised theological seminaries within the church.
In a memo dated March 16, 2026, and circulated across all regions, districts, and shepherds of the church, Oshoffa condemned the activities of certain institutions allegedly issuing fake certificates in his name without approval.
He cautioned that such practices are illegal and deceptive, stressing that any certificate obtained from these unauthorised seminaries would not be recognised by the church’s administration.
“It has come to my attention that some unauthorised theological seminaries operating within the CCC fold are unlawfully using my name to issue fake certificates to their seminarians without my consent or approval,” the statement read.
The church leader reaffirmed that the only officially recognised theological institution of the church remains the Celestial Church of Christ Theological Seminary located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
He further directed all aspiring and serving shepherds seeking theological training to enrol exclusively at the approved seminary, warning that failure to comply could render their credentials invalid within the church. The directive is seen as part of efforts by the church leadership to maintain doctrinal integrity and curb the proliferation of fraudulent religious institutions within its fold.
