The House of Representatives Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olatunbosun George Oladele, has expressed profound sadness over the passing of Deaconess Janet Adewumi Ogunbiyi, Àsàbí-Òní (née Ademola), a devoted member of U.M.C.A. Bethlehem Church, Igbeti.
In a condolence message, Hon. Oladele described the late deaconness as a woman of strong Christian faith, admirable character, compassion, and selfless service, whose life was devoted to God, her family, the church, and the community.
He noted that the passing of Deaconess Ogunbiyi is a painful loss not only to her immediate family but also to the U.M.C.A. Bethlehem Church, Igbeti, the wider Christian community, and the people of Igbeti, who will greatly miss her presence, warmth, and contributions.
Oladele particularly commiserated with her husband, Chief Dr. D. O. Ogunbiyi, the Ogunbiyi and Ademola families, as well as the Oriade and Asipa Compound, praying that Almighty God would grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“The passing of Deaconess Janet Adewumi Ogunbiyi, Asabi Oni (née Ademola), is a painful loss to us all. She lived a life anchored in faith, love, compassion, and service to God and humanity. Her departure has created a vacuum that will be deeply felt by her beloved husband, Chief Dr. D. O. Ogunbiyi, her family, the church, and the community. We take solace in the meaningful life she lived and the positive memories she leaves behind.”
He also acknowledged the grief of the leadership and congregation of U.M.C.A. Bethlehem Church, Igbeti, describing the late Deaconess as a woman whose Christian devotion and service would remain a cherished part of the church’s history.
Hon. Oladele urged the bereaved family to take comfort in the enduring legacy of the deceased and in the knowledge that her life touched many people positively. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in faith during this difficult period.
“At this moment of grief, I urge the Ogunbiyi and Ademola families to find strength in God and comfort in the beautiful memories of a life well lived. May the virtues she represented continue to live on through those she left behind.”
He prayed that Almighty God would forgive the shortcomings of the departed, grant her eternal rest, and comfort Chief Dr. D. O. Ogunbiyi, the children and entire family, as well as the leadership and congregation of U.M.C.A. Bethlehem Church and all those mourning her transition.
