The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of two seasoned executives to head its communications and relations directorates.
Mr. Andy Odeh has been named Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi assumes the role of Chief Relations Officer, according to a statement issued by the company on Tuesday in Abuja.
Odeh brings over 30 years of expertise spanning oil and gas, advertising, and broadcasting. Before joining NNPC, he spent 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), where he rose through various leadership positions, including General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development.
At NLNG, Odeh spearheaded the company’s rebranding, implemented one of Nigeria’s most effective micro-credit schemes for host communities, and instituted the prestigious NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting. He is an alumnus of the University of Jos, the University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Mrs. Adewunmi, a legal practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, built her career at Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN). She held critical roles, including Regulatory Affairs Manager and Government Relations Manager, where she maintained strategic relationships with the Presidency, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
Known for her emotional intelligence and mastery of stakeholder management, Adewunmi has a strong record in regulatory compliance and advocacy. She studied law at Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School.
NNPC Ltd. said the appointments underscore its commitment to strengthening communication, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory alignment as it deepens its role in Nigeria’s energy transition and economic growth.
