Once we are joined to Christ, we are no longer under the dominion of the law. God does not divorce those who are in Christ. The only ones separated are those still bound by the law.
Galatians 5:4 (NLT)
“For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.”
Romans 7:1 (NLT)
“Now, dear brothers and sisters—you who are familiar with the law—don’t you know that the law applies only while a person is living?”
Challenge Error with Truth: In both medical and religious fields, errors exist. Those who care must challenge authoritarian voices—whether doctors or leaders—with facts and truth. You are not powerless.
Freedom from Legalism: There are still people in the Church who act as custodians of the law. But in Christ, the law no longer has dominion over us.
Romans 5:13 (NLT)
“Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break.”
Galatians 3:19 (NLT)
“Why, then, was the law given? It was given alongside the promise to show people their sins. But the law was designed to last only until the coming of the child who was promised.”
Not many realize they are no longer married to the law. Jesus, who paid the price, now sits on the throne with all authority.
A New Life in the Spirit
Romans 7:6 (NLT)
“But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.”
We now serve God in love, not in fear or obligation. If you fall into legalism, you risk falling into the grip of the enemy.
Our Old Marriage Has Ended: The law no longer binds us. That marriage ended when we became united with Christ.
Romans 7:10–13 (NLT)
“So I discovered that the law’s commands, which were supposed to bring life, brought spiritual death instead. Sin took advantage of those commands and deceived me; it used the commands to kill me.”
No Condemnation in Christ
Romans 8:1–2 (NLT)
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.”
By Grace, Not the Law
Galatians 3:24–25 (NLT)
“Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with God through faith. And now that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian.”
