Manchester City thrashed Exeter City 10-1 in the FA Cup third round

Manchester City cruised into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a demolition of League One side Exeter City.

The Blues, who fielded a strong side, were four up at the break and ran out 10-1 winners.

They were in front early when Max Alleyne forced home an opener from a corner and Rodri blasted in a second midway through the half. Nathan Ake scored a fortunate third before the unlucky Jack Fitzwater diverted into his own net just before the break.

Rico Lewis and debutant Antoine Semenyo added quickfire goals at the start of the second half and Tijjani Reijnders curled in a seventh with 20 minutes remaining. There was still time for sub Nico O’Reilly to head in an eighth and Ryan McAidoo to crown a fine debut with a ninth. Exeter then got on the scoresheet in style thanks to a fine finish from George Birch but City went up the other end to reach double figures through Lewis.
