The Super Eagles of Nigeria are already boarding the aircraft preparatory to returning home after they were stranded for over 15 hours at the Al Abraq Airport in Libya.
It was gathered that their aircraft had been cleared to return to Nigeria.
The Super Eagles arrived Libya on Sunday for the AFCON qualifier against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya tomorrow.
They were, however, stranded and resolved to pull out of the match in view of the inhuman condition they faced.
Recall that Nigeria’s top striker, Victor Osimhen, has called on the Confederation of African Football, CAF, and other football bodies to intervene in the case of the Super Eagles of Nigeria who have been left stranded at the airport.

Reacting to the deplorable situation the Super Eagles were subjected to, Osimhen described the development as uncalled for and inhuman.
He wrote: “I am disappointed by the unfair treatment my brothers and coaches are facing at the Libya airport last night. Actions like this go against the spirit of sportsmanship. My support is with my team, and I know they’ll stay strong despite these obstacles.
“I call on CAF and other football bodes to intervene, as my teammates and officials are still stranded at the airport in Libya. This is uncalled for and inhuman. We stand together, stronger than ever.”
In a statement announcing the decision to pull out of the match earlier, NFF said it was based on the situation where the Super Eagles were stranded at the Al Abraq International Airport in Libya, for about 15 hours.
On Monday, the NFF declared that the Super Eagles were already fagged out and frustrated and decided not to play the match.
The statement reads in part: “Players have resolved not to play the match any longer, and NFF officials are making plans to fly the team back home.”
