The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has opened sales of application forms for next year’s Hajj and Ramadan Umrah exercises.
It has also called on intending pilgrims to register without delay and begin settling their fares according to the schedule set by Saudi authorities and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
The Board’s Secretary, Abdul-Hakeem Ajomagberin, said this in a statement issued on Monday.
Ajomagberin put the price of the Hajj form at ₦20,000 and the Umrah form at ₦10,000, with both sums payable to the Board’s Accounts Department.
He said Hajj-bound pilgrims must first pay ₦7m as a deposit, submitted as a bank draft from any commercial bank and made out to the Board.
The statement read, “For Hajj, intending pilgrims are to pay an initial deposit of ₦7 million via bank draft drawn from any commercial bank in favour of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. He noted that any increase or reduction in the final fare would be communicated once NAHCON announces the approved Hajj fare. The deadline for payment of the initial deposit is September 2026.”
For those travelling on Ramadan Umrah, Ajomagberin said a deposit of ₦5.7m was similarly required by bank draft.

He urged pilgrims to insist on official receipts for every payment lodged with the Accounts Department.
The push for early registration, he said, mirrors NAHCON’s instruction to state boards to wrap up registration and payments well ahead of the Hajj season.
“Timely compliance will enable NAHCON to effectively coordinate visa processing, accommodation, airlift arrangements, and other logistics with Saudi authorities to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience for Nigerian pilgrims,” he said.
He explained that this year’s packages had been designed so that pilgrims could combine worship with comfort and security.
According to him, perks on offer include lodging within walking distance of the Haram, dependable local transport, and breakfast and dinner made up of local dishes daily.
Pilgrims would also get medical care, spiritual guidance, and guided Ziyarah visits to notable religious and historical sites in Makkah and Madinah, he added.
Separately, Ajomagberin disclosed that signing up for the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme, run by the Lagos State Health Management Agency, has now become compulsory for anyone travelling for the pilgrimage.
He said the requirement was meant to secure pilgrims’ access to proper healthcare before they travel, while they are away, and once they return home.
Individuals would pay ₦15,000 to join the scheme, he said, while families would pay ₦55,000.
The Board Secretary restated the Board’s commitment to openness and accountability in its dealings, arguing that these values have set Lagos apart in Hajj administration over the years.
He said he was confident that with backing from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Kadiri Hamzat, and NAHCON’s oversight, next year’s pilgrimage would rank among the most successful in recent memory.
