Gunmen suspected to be terrorists have kidnapped a student of the University of Jos alongside six others while they were traveling from Jos, Plateau State, to Kaduna.
In disturbing video now circulating on social media, a young man identified as John Arum Azi was seen pleading for help after being abducted along the Kaduna route.
According to him, he was travelling to Kaduna when he was kidnapped alongside six other individuals, bringing the total number of victims to seven.

In the video, the abducted undergraduate was seen being beaten and flogged with large sticks. It was learnt that the terrorists sent the footage to his class WhatsApp group, demanding N30 million ransom.
However, the ransom was reportedly negotiated down to N4.5 million. The video, said to have been posted on Facebook by one of his course mates, was allegedly shared using Azi’s own phone after the kidnappers forced him to record a message to his family and the public. In the footage, he appears visibly distressed as he appeals for financial assistance to secure his release.
