In a bid to set up a proper structure for the club after school life, the Kegites Club recently converged on Lagos for a global Comradium Summit.
Held under the aegis of the Supremost Kegites Club International, the club set out to reach a consensus on the modalities of restructuring of non-student members in Kegites Club.
The Summit, which had in attendance archival chiefs like Chief Clement Oghene, Chief Kolawole Kareem (Arake), Chief Olumide Oniyere (SAN) and Chief Oghene Olu Dexter, amongst many other great leaders of the club, looked into ways to engender a level playing field for all non-students members irrespective of their status in the club at the time of graduation through robust and healthy discussions.
One of the decisions of the Summit is creating a platform for proper structure and organization that would lead to many benefits for members and also bring back to the fold most ex-members that no longer relate with the club because of lack of proper structure for the club after school.
This culminated in adopting a constitution that will guide the operation of the club among non-student members after serious deliberations among delegates to the Summit.
Apart from adopting a constitution, the Summit also decided, among others, to relocate the club’s Supreme Headquarters to Lagos.
The Kegites club is the most popular socio-cultural club in Nigeria. The club originated from the University of Ile-Ife (ObafemiAwolowo University) in the year 1962.

The Comradium Global Summit 2026, convened under the auspices of Dee Comradium, was successfully held on Saturday, 18th April 2026, at Martinos Hotel & Suites, Plot 1 Otunba Jobi-Fele Way, CBD Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The summit commenced with a registration exercise from 08:00 to 10:00 hours, followed by the official rendition of the Kegites Anthem, opening prayers, and the formal declaration of the summit open. A welcome address was delivered by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), outlining the strategic imperatives for institutional renewal, governance realignment, and sustainable organizational growth.
Following extensive deliberations, the Summit House unanimously adopted the following constitutional amendments and administrative resolutions, which are hereby issued as binding directives for all recognized organs of the Supremost Kegites Club International (SKCI).
CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS & RESOLUTIONS
1. Relocation of Supreme Headquarters (Article 3)
The Supreme Headquarters of SKCI is hereby officially established in Lagos State, Nigeria. This directive takes effect immediately and is intended to centralize administrative operations, enhance strategic oversight, and align with contemporary organizational demands.
2.Governance & Institutional Autonomy (Article 8.1.2)
The Global Administrative Council (GAC) shall exercise minimal oversight on recognized student bodies operating under the SKCI name, mission, and vision. This provision ensures compliance with global standards while safeguarding the autonomy, academic integrity, and operational independence of student authorities.
3. Restructuring of the Board of Trustees (Article 10)
The Board of Trustees shall comprise the four (4) currently active members, with seven (7) additional trustees to be appointed. All appointments shall ensure equitable geographical representation across the six (6) geopolitical regions of Nigeria.
4. Tenure Regulations for Trustees (Article 10.2)
– Trustees shall serve a maximum term of three (3) years, renewable once (maximum of two consecutive tenures).
– Foundational Trustees shall be limited to a single term only.
– Any individual appointed to fill a vacancy shall complete the unexpired tenure of the outgoing trustee.
5. Tenure of the Global Administrative Council (GAC)
Members of the GAC shall serve a two-year term, renewable for one additional term. This structure ensures continuity, preserves institutional memory, and allows for the periodic infusion of fresh leadership perspectives.

All SKCI affiliates, student bodies, and administrative organs are directed to comply with these amendments and support the transition process with full transparency and institutional loyalty.
