…says: ‘I align with Tinubu’
Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has pulled out of the race for the 2027 Lagos state governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adediran announced his decision on Thursday at a media briefing attended by leaders and supporters of the Lagos4Lagos movement at Liberty House, Adeniyi Jones secretariat, in Ikeja.
The withdrawal comes barely 24 hours after he purchased his expression of interest and nomination forms.

The decision follows President Bola Tinubu’s endorsement of Obafemi Hamzat as the consensus governorship candidate for APC in Lagos.
Explaining his decision, Jandor said he was aligning with his earlier commitment to respect the direction of the president and the party leadership.
“Within hours after I purchased my nomination forms, there were developments, including a meeting involving the President and the Deputy Governor. It was subsequently made known that the President had endorsed Dr. Obafemi Hamzat,” he said.
“Based on my earlier position that I will align with the direction of the President, I have decided to withdraw from the race.” He urged his supporters to remain calm, respect the party’s internal processes, and maintain unity and discipline within the APC.
