Members of the Irepo Grammar School, Igboho, Old Students Association Class of 1979 has elected Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo and Pastor Mike Afolabi as the President and Vice President of the Association respectively.
This followed a motion moved by Otunba Rick Oladele, seconded by Apostle Caleb Oyewole and unanimously adopted by members, at the extraordinary online meeting of the association held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
The Association’s decision followed the end of the mourning period for its pioneer President and 1978/79 Senior Prefect, Engineer Emmanuel Oladejo aka Fantomas, who died on February 26, 2026, after a brief illness. He was aged 72 years.
The newly elected President, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo is a paragon of dedication and service, embodying the values of selflessness and commitment to the greater good. Born over six decades ago, he has lived a life marked by purpose and passion, driven by a desire to make a positive impact on his community and beyond. A farmer, an accountant, an administrator, and a lawyer, his multifaceted background has equipped him with a unique perspective and skillset.
As he navigates the complexities of life, Comrade Titilola-Sodo is guided by a profound understanding of the interconnectedness of humanity. He recognizes that our individual successes are often the result of collective efforts and that true fulfillment comes from serving others. His life’s work is a testament to this philosophy, as he has tirelessly advocated for the rights and welfare of workers, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the principles of justice, equity, and compassion.
Titilola-Sodo is a farmer, an accountant, an administrator and a lawyer attended Agbeni Methodist School, Irepo Grammar School, Igboho, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria College of Accountancy, Jos, Lead City University, Ibadan and the Nigerian Law School. He started work with Oyo State as an Agricultural Officer but later crossed to the accountant cadre and rose to the post of Head of Local Government Administration becoming a Permanent Secretary before retiring in 2020. He was also the state president of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) for many years as well as the Chairman of the State branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). He is currently the Special Adviser on Labour Affairs to the Governor of Oyo State. He has three children, two lawyers and an Engineer. Bayo is the Mayegun of Igboholand and a past 2nd Vice Captain of Ibadan Golf Club.
