…sacks all Commissioners, Special Advisers
Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dissolved the Rivers State Executive Council, ordering all commissioners and special advisers to relinquish their positions with immediate effect.
The directive, conveyed on Thursday through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, instructed affected officials to hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior officers within their respective ministries.
The governor thanked members of the outgoing cabinet for their contributions and extended his best wishes for their future pursuits.
The sweeping decision comes barely 48 hours after the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, disclosed fresh reconciliation efforts aimed at resolving the lingering political turbulence in Rivers State.

Wike revealed that President Bola Tinubu convened a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa with key stakeholders from the state, including Governor Fubara and his predecessor, in a renewed bid to douse tensions triggered by the protracted power struggle.
The intervention followed the initiation of a third impeachment notice against Fubara by lawmakers aligned with Wike, a move that has since become entangled in legal proceedings.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday after inspecting ongoing projects, Wike confirmed that the meeting held on February 9 was at the President’s instance.
He expressed optimism that the mediation would mark the final chapter of the dispute, urging members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to comply with the President’s appeal while expressing confidence that the governor would equally uphold his end of any agreement.
