Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday moved to take over the Abuja residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
The operatives, reportedly led by Folarin Dare, arrived in about five buses and were seen heavily armed as they barricaded the road leading to the property in Maitama.
Access to the residence, located at No. 2 Koranakh Close, off Amazon Street, was restricted as EFCC officials sealed off the area.
The action is believed to be linked to an ongoing investigation into alleged financial improprieties involving the former minister.

Eyewitnesses said the operatives arrived in about five buses and took control of Koranakh close, off Amazon Street, effectively sealing off the neighbourhood.
Residents and visitors were reportedly prevented from accessing the street as the anti-graft agency mounted a heavy security presence.
The team, reportedly led by Folarin Dare, was dressed in the commission’s red and black jackets and visibly armed.
The residence at No. 2 Koranakh close could not be accessed as the anti-graft agency took control of the surroundings.
Although the EFCC has not issued an official statement, the operation is believed to be linked to an ongoing investigation into alleged financial impropriety.
