1 Corinthians 1:30 KJV

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Christ has become your sanctification (holiness).

1 Corinthians 1:30 NLT

God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from the penalty of sin.

These are the benefit of being united with Christ.  You are united with Christ for your benefit.

Christ freed you from the penalty of sins. Now you are already holy before God. This is the hidden wisdom, it is a mystery.

Galatians 5:2

Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you.

Those who try to be justified by the law. Under the law, you lose these benefits of being united with Christ.

Colossians 1:22

Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

As a result of what Christ has done, you are holy, pure and without a single fault. If you try and count on your works, you lose these benefits.

Hebrews 10:10 NLT

For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

When you try to keep the law, you lose these benefits.

Galatians 5:4 NLT

For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.

Galatians 5:4 NIV

You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

If you try to earn righteousness by works, you have been alienated from Christ. You are not part of Christ. You are no longer holy and you don’t stand before God without a single fault.

Ephesians 5:27

He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

Once you are married to Christ by faith, you without spots or a single blemish. On Calvary, you are holy. But once you go to the law, you lose these benefits.

Jude 1:24

Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.

Jesus will bring you to God with not a single fault. Those who try to obey the law, will be cut off Christ and be alienated from Christ and not because they were sinners. But because they try to earn Gods righteousness.

Solomon 4:7

Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee

This is a picture of God, concerning His bride in Christ.

Hebrews 10:14 NLT

For by that one sacrifice, he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.

This is the Lords doing and it is marvelous in our sight. If you try to embark in good works, it will no longer be the Lords doing.

Romans 4:19-21

And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,

And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

The promise here is the promise of eternal life. Abraham did not stagger through unbelief. He did not consider his dead body, if he did, he will not believe the promise of God.

When you look into Jesus through faith, you see that you’re spotless. You are not to look at yourself or your dead body because it is sure damnation.

Look unto Jesus because that is where our help comes from. You must only consider the promise of God. The law and our conscience tell you look at yourself and try to improve. This is how you lose your promise of eternal life.
