1. The Resurrection Confirms Acquittal
• The resurrection of Christ is proof that God accepted the payment for sin.
• Without it, there would be no forgiveness (Romans 4:25).
• The empty tomb is heaven’s declaration: “Case closed.”
• Justification means to be declared not guilty, to stand before God as though you never sinned (Romans 8:33).
2. The Legal Meaning of Justification
• It is a legal verdict: “Not guilty.”
• The cross paid the debt; the resurrection confirmed the receipt.
• Once the Judge (God Himself) has declared you righteous, no accuser — not even Satan — can reopen the case.
• You cannot be judged twice for the same offence; the case is permanently closed.
3. The Spirit of Resurrection
• The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the Spirit of God at work in believers (Romans 8:11).
• It is not the power of man but the power of God that makes us alive and guides us by the Holy Spirit.
• The same Spirit ensures that no case remains pending against us.
4. The Resurrection and the Believer’s Life
• Things buried in a believer’s life can rise again by the same resurrection power (Matthew 27:52–53).
• Use the power of the resurrection in prayer:
• To call forth restoration in your children’s lives.
• To speak revival over what seems dead.
• To declare freedom from condemnation and guilt.
5. Faith: Confident Reliance
• Faith is trust and reliance, not mere intellectual belief (Hebrews 11:1).
• Just as one trusts water to hold them when swimming, we trust Christ’s finished work to uphold us.
• True faith rests — it is confident assurance that the work of Christ is complete.
6. The Hope of the Ancients
• Before the resurrection, paradise was only a temporary place.
• When Christ rose, He announced the good news to the saints who had died in hope — confirming their salvation (1 Corinthians 15:17–18).
7. Practical Application
• When you pray, remember:
• Your record is clean.
• Your standing is secure.
• Your eternity is guaranteed.
• There is no curse pending, only justification by faith.
