Brother allegedly pushes sibling to death during altercation in Lagos

The police in Lagos have arrested a man, Ayodeji Busari, for reportedly pushing his 47-year-old sibling to death on Friday night during a heated argument in Iba, Lagos.

The incident occurred around 11:00pm at Iba New Site.

According to a report filed at the Iba Police Station, the deceased travelled from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to visit a friend and got into a confrontation with his elder brother, Ayodeji Busari.

During the altercation, Busari allegedly pushed his younger brother, causing him to fall and hit his head on a pavement.

The impact rendered the victim unconscious before he was immediately rushed to Igando General Hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival.

Photographs of the deceased were taken at the hospital and the body has been transferred to the Mainland General Hospital mortuary in Yaba for autopsy, the police confirmed.

Police officials have visited the scene of the crime and the suspect Busari is in police custody.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for further investigation.
