Former Nigeria international Ogenyi Onazi feels the Super Eagles are capable of winning their fourth Africa Cup of Nations title in 2025.
Following their failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the team’s future in Morocco is uncertain.
Eric Chelle, the head coach, also omitted key names from his final AFCON team, including Maduka Okoye, Terem Moffi, and Tolu Arokodare.
Chelle instead opted for newbies like Salim Fago Lawal, Tochukwu Nnadi, and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro.

Despite pessimism surrounding the team, Onazi is rooting for them to go all the way in Morocco.
“Just like our team in 2013, we had many new players who made people not believe in us.
“We knew we had a huge task in front of us, and we decided to give it our best. We were able to lift the title. I expect the same from this set of players,” the former Lazio star told Footy Africa.
