The Super Eagles players have decided to boycott the return leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Group D qualifier, after they were held hostage at the Al Abraq Airport for over 15 hours after arrival in Libya.
In a post on X, Enoh claimed that he has spoken with CAF president, Patrice Motsepe and the Secretary-General, Mosengo Omba, about the situation.
He tweeted: “This morning, I was on a conference call with CAF President and CAF Secretary General.
“While the CAF President’s concern seems to be what to do to get the national team to participate in tomorrow’s match.
“I have instead informed CAF that the concern of the Government and people of Nigeria is first, the safety of the team and their safe return, urging that CAF should focus on working with us to achieve this.
“There must be a serious adverse consequence to the Libyan football federation for this unspeakable behaviour.

“This cannot be through insisting that Nigeria still takes part in this match given the very obvious situation.”
Prince Adewale Oladunjoye, the Director of the ITF Challenger dubbed ‘Governor’s Cup’ has this to say, “They (NFF and Sports Ministry) know what to do by communicating CAF and copying FIFA on what actually happened immediately. The reason I want the NSC to control our Sports in the Presidency for actions or inactions of these issues for proper reactions in avoiding wrong diplomacy, a major component in sports…
They (Libyans) would panic and quickly do the needful just to upset them (Super Eagles players) a bit, usual actions of North Africans. They concealed their arrivals for the first leg lost narrowly in Uyo and they are assuring their people to win the next leg on their home ground. Super Eagles should expect these actions and just compose themselves and avoid distractions.”
