Evergreen Juju music legend, Ebenezer Olasupo Aremu Fabiyi, popularly known as Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, is presently ‘thanking God while counting his blessings’, as he plans a week-long celebration to mark his eighty-second birthday.
The legend of the Miliki Express fame will soon turn 82 on April 3, 2024. And to ‘thank God, while counting his blessings’, he has planned a week-long celebrations to mark the occasion.
To kick-start the celebrations, Chief Commander would soon to enter the studio to record his experience with prostate enlargement surgery at his advanced age of eighty-one.
According to him, men should be more informed about the scourge of prostate enlargement and the high mortality rate of prostate cancer in the country.
He opened up about how he recently survived prostate surgery, which he disclosed almost claimed his life.
“It is by the grace of God that I survived prostate surgery at the age of almost 82”, he said.
“I thank God for bringing me out of a prostate enlargement surgery operation at Kelina Hospital, Lagos. I thank my friends, followers, fans, and people of God for their prayers. Some people came to visit me in the hospital. I thank them all,” he said.
According to the veteran musician, his new song would address the issues of prostate enlargement and the fatal growth of prostate cancer.
He said, “I also plan to release a song on the issue of prostate enlargement. I will talk about my experience and inform the public. It is a disease that usually afflicts males, and can happen to any man over the age of 40. King Charles of Britain also had it. It is more dangerous when it is cancerous. I am grateful that mine was not cancerous. I am happy that I passed through it, and was congratulated when I survived it.”
He, however, returned all glory to God, adding that despite his initial fears, Nigerian doctors and prayers aided his fast and full recovery.
He proclaimed, “God told me I had not finished what he sent me to do on earth. He said he still had more assignments for me. I am also determined to do more of such work for Him. I will share the full testimony on my 82nd birthday on April 3.”
The music maestro-turned evangelist has therefore planned to carry out huge philanthropic initiatives across nine locations in Ogun State, including the Pacelli School for the Blind, and Lepers’ Colony, Abeokuta.
He insisted on continuing to sing till the last breath of his life, saying, he was not sure he would still be alive if he had stopped singing.
Baba Miliki further revealed that he had major surgery on his legs two years ago. He stated that though there were complications after the surgery, he also survived it only by the grace of God.
The week-long celebrations will end with a Thanksgiving service on April 3, 2024, at the Decross Gospel Mission, Lagos.
