Lagos Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the state will do everything to ensure that those responsible for the kidnapping of the three Fouani brothers, but were rescued by the police on Tuesday, are apprehended and brought to book.

Governor Sanwo-Olu gave this vow on Wednesday when the leadership of Baptist Convention led by its African President, Rev. (Dr.) Israel Akanbi paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Alausa, Ikeja.

The governor said he had since met with the freed Lebanese at their residence at Banana Island, noting sadly that the abduction saga had sent a wrong signal to the state, and, therefore, the need to ensure that the perpetrators were not allowed to go scot-free.

The governor, however, stated that contrary to some reports that the three Fouani brothers were kidnapped somewhere in Marina, explained that the incident took place on the high sea, declaring that the state in collaboration with the security operatives was on top of the situation combing everywhere as, according to him, Lagos will not condone such criminality.

“We are on top of it, security operatives are combing everywhere, it is a top signal, Lagos will not condone it,” he vowed.

Governor Sanwo-Olu urged all religious leaders in the country as key stakeholders to ensure they play their role as expected so that government can bring good governance to the people.
