The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ondo State, is set to witness a major political gathering tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, 2026, as the party’s Presidential Candidate and former Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, storms Akure for the official joining of Balogun Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, and other prominent political leaders into the ADC.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is expected to be joined by national leaders of the ADC and prominent political leaders and stakeholders from the nooks and crannies of Nigeria, as the party welcomes Jegede and his supporters into its fold at the NEPA Park, Akure on Thursday.
A release signed by ADC Publicity Secretary for Ondo State, Remi Ofakunrin said the event is expected to be a significant moment for the ADC and its growing movement for a Nigeria where government policies translate into improved living conditions for ordinary citizens.
The ADC and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar have consistently spoken about the need to reduce the economic pressure on Nigerians, particularly the burden created by high energy and transportation costs.
Among the issues Atiku and the ADC have advocated are measures aimed at reducing, education, fuel and transportation costs, supporting domestic refining, improving economic opportunities, strengthening security, and ensuring that government resources are directed more effectively towards the welfare of Nigerians.
“The ADC’s message is simple: Nigeria must become a country where citizens can afford to live, work, do business and raise their families with dignity.
“As Balogun Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, formally joins the ADC, the party invites Nigerians who share the aspiration for a new Nigeria where life is easier, more affordable and more secure to come and witness the occasion”, the statement read.
