The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has elected Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro as its new National President, succeeding Festus Osifo, who led the association from 2020 to 2026.
Olabiyi-Agoro was elected at the association’s 1st Quadrennial National Delegates Conference held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, on Saturday.
In his acceptance speech, the new PENGASSAN president pledged to build on the achievements of the outgoing administration while prioritising the protection of jobs, workers’ welfare, industrial relations and the unity of the association.
He paid tribute to Osifo, describing him as a “leader, builder and fighter,” and commended his contributions to strengthening PENGASSAN’s influence in the oil and gas industry.
According to him, the former president defended jobs during divestments, fought for collective bargaining agreements and their implementation, and gave the association a stronger voice at the highest levels of government.
