An Ondo State-based pastor, Olabanjo Felix, has abandoned Christianity and embraced Isese, the indigenous Yoruba spiritual tradition, declaring himself a Babalawo.

Felix, founder of Image of God Evangelical and Prophetic Ministries in Ibaka, Oka Akoko, Ondo State, disclosed his decision in a video that went viral across social media platforms on Thursday.

In the video, the former pastor announced his adoption of a new spiritual path and identity.

“I’m now Ifawamiri Aworanolodumare, Babalawo of Ifá,” he declared in the video.

He also appreciated his new spiritual guide, the Araba of Isararemọ, Oluṣẹgun Latunji Aifuwapẹ, as well as his spiritual sons for their support and guidance.

During the announcement, Felix criticised foreign religions and argued that indigenous Yoruba worship holds greater value.

The former cleric did not state what would become of his church and members following his departure from Christian ministry.

His decision has generated reactions on social media, with discussions spreading across X, Facebook and Instagram.
