The Presidency has announced the rescue of all the pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed the development in a post on Friday, stating that security agencies successfully secured the release of all the victims.
“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” Onanuga wrote.
The brief statement did not provide details of the rescue operation, including how the victims regained their freedom or whether any suspects were arrested.
The abduction had sparked widespread concern, with security agencies launching efforts to ensure the safe return of the victims.
