In a bid to set up a proper structure for the club after school life, the Kegites Club recently converged on Lagos for a global Comradium Summit to adopt the club’s constitution.
Held under the aegis of the Supremost Kegites Club International, the club set out to reach a consensus on the modalities of restructuring of non-student members in Kegites Club.
The Summit, which had in attendance archival chiefs like Chief Clement Oghene, Chief Kolawole Kareem (Arake), Chief Olumide Oniyere (SAN) and Chief Oghene Olu Dexter, amongst many other great leaders of the club, looked into ways to engender a level playing field for all non-students members irrespective of their status in the club at the time of graduation through robust and healthy discussions.
One of the decisions of the Summit is creating a platform for proper structure and organization that would lead to many benefits for members and also bring back to the fold most ex-members that no longer relate with the club because of lack of proper structure for the club after school.
This culminated in adopting a constitution that will guide the operation of the club among non-student members after serious deliberations among delegates to the Summit.
Apart from adopting a constitution, the Summit also decided, among others, to relocate the club’s Supreme Headquarters to Lagos.
The Kegites club is the most popular socio-cultural club in Nigeria. The club originated from the University of Ile-Ife (ObafemiAwolowo University) in the year 1962.

ISSUING BODY: Supremost Kegites Club International Dee Comradium (SKCI) | DEE COMRADIUM Global Summit 2026
Dee Comradium Global Summit 2026, convened under the auspices of SKCI, was successfully held on Saturday, 18th April 2026, at Martinos Hotel & Suites, Plot 1, Otunba Jobi-Fele Way, CBD Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos to adopt and ratify the draft constitution; and discuss strategic roadmap for the non-student body of Supremost Kegites Club International.
Following extensive deliberations, the delegates at the Summit unanimously adopted and ratified the constitution for the Supremost Kegites Club International (SKCI).
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ADOPTED AND RATIFIED CONSTITUTION
1. Supremost Kegites Club International Headquarters
The Supreme Headquarters of SKCI shall be situated in Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria.
2. Membership of the Club
Membership shall not be by automatic transition from student body to non-student body. Prospective members shall be admitted after fulfilling the requirements and prerequisites stipulated by the Global Administrative Council (GAC).
3. Composition of the Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees shall comprise of the four (4) currently active members, with seven (7) additional trustees to be appointed. Appointments shall ensure equitable geographical representation across the six (6) geopolitical regions of Nigeria.
4. Tenure Regulations for Trustees
• Trustees shall serve a maximum term of three (3) years, renewable once (maximum of two consecutive tenures).
• Foundational Trustees shall be limited to a single term only.
• Any individual appointed to fill a vacancy shall complete the unexpired tenure of the outgoing trustee.
5. Governance & Institutional Autonomy
The Global Administrative Council (GAC) shall be duly elected at the Annual General Meeting with vested authorities in Nigeria and Overseas.
The Global Administrative Council (GAC) shall exercise minimal oversight on recognized student bodies that operate under the SKCI.
This provision is designed to ensure compliance with global standards while safeguarding the autonomy, academic integrity, and operational independence of student authorities.
6. Tenure of the Global Administrative Council (GAC)
Members of the GAC shall serve a two-year term, renewable for one additional term. This structure ensures continuity, institutional memory, and periodic infusion of fresh leadership perspectives.
7. Annual General Meeting (AGM)
• The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will hold yearly (within April – July).
• General meetings may be convened as needed.
• Members have voting rights, and decisions are made by 2/3 majority.

A. Caretaker Committee (4-Member)
Established to ensure administrative continuity, manage transitional processes, and facilitate the implementation of summit resolutions:

4. Chief Oghene Olu Dexter – Secretary
B. Electoral Committee (5-Member)
Nominated, vetted, and officially sworn into office to oversee all future electoral processes:

2. Patron Ibitoye Olabode – Secretary (SW)
3. Chief Tony Ojeogwu – Member (SE)
4. Senior Fellow Mary Gold – Member (SS)

CLOSING & IMPLEMENTATION DIRECTIVES
All resolutions contained herein are to take immediate effect.
The Caretaker Committee shall coordinate with relevant organs to initiate constitutional updates, regional trustee nominations, and electoral framework alignment.
