Police arrest veteran ‘one chance’ robbery suspects

In a statement on Saturday, the NPF described the suspects, Chukwudi Nbachukwu and Chukwuma Okeke, as experienced in robbery, with 22 years of combined experience. Nbachukwu, 47, is from Enugu and resides in Madala, Niger State.

According to the police, the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department – Intelligence Response Team .

Members of the gang target unsuspecting victims, posing as commercial drivers and luring them into their vehicles. Once inside, the victims would be robbed of their valuables at gunpoint before being dumped by the roadside.

After receiving numerous reports of such incidents, the police launched a special task force dedicated to tracking down the culprits. Through diligent detective work and the help of informants, they were able to identify and apprehend the members of the gang.
