*As councilman, 79-yr-old grandma, others join club
Mother Africa shone brightly at the weekend in the United States of America when the Indianapolis-Marion City-County issued a formal declaration in honour of Nigeria’s iconic socio-cultural organisation, the Kegites Club.
In the declaration, the county said it fully identified with the pivotal roles that the Americana Archaivar Plus Convergence and the Universal Archaivar Elders have been playing home and abroad since inception.

A member of the council, Vop Osili, gladly joined the club and was promptly made a patron. He was joined by a 79-year-old grandmother and five others.
It all happened at the crest unveiling ceremony of the club’s world gyration held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event brought together distinguished elders, fellows, dignitaries, and members of the Nigerian diaspora in a celebration that underscored the timeless values of the Kegites Club—peace, respect, and brotherhood.

The highlight of the evening was the official unveiling of the crest by Osili, a respected Democratic leader in Indianapolis, member of the City-County Council (District 11), and former Council President (2018–2026), who recently declared his candidacy for Mayor of Indianapolis in 2027.
