A former Fox 2 TV anchor, Angelynn Mock, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, to death in Wichita, Kansas.
According to Daily Mail, the 47-year-old ex-journalist was taken into custody on Friday morning after officers responded to a stabbing report around 8 a.m.
When officers arrived at the home, they found Mock standing outside, covered in blood, while her mother was discovered inside the bedroom with multiple stab wounds.
Avers was rushed to the hospital but later died from her injuries, according to Wichita police.
Mock was also treated at the hospital for undisclosed reasons before being booked into Sedgwick County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder. Her bond was set at $1 million.

Mock, who worked as an anchor and reporter for Fox 2 in St. Louis between 2011 and 2015, was reportedly seen by neighbors shortly after the incident.
A neighbor, Alyssa Castro, said Mock approached her car “covered in blood” and begged to use her boyfriend’s phone to call 911 before running back into the house. “I asked if she was okay. She looked scared and shaken, then she just ran off,” Castro told local outlet KAKE.
Avers, a marriage and family therapist, worked at Wichita Counseling Professionals. Police said investigations are still ongoing to determine what led to the tragic incident.
