Chinese actor and singer, Zhang Yiyang also known as Gui Zai, has been executed by firing squad for the murder of his underage girlfriend.
The Intermediate People’s Court of Xianyang in North Shaanxi Province announced his execution.
According to the report, the actor attacked his 16-year-old girlfriend with a knife in 2022, cut her left carotid artery, jugular vein, trachea and esophagus. She died after continuously bleeding.
After the incident, he confiscated the deceased’s phone, discarded the knife and other weapons.
Zhang attempted to commit suicide at a hotel the next day, but was discovered by one of the hotel workers, who reported the scene to the police.
