A Nigerian man has been deported from the United Kingdom after his wife, whom he sponsored for a master’s degree, removed him as a dependent on her visa.
The shocking incident was shared online by a social media user, @Row_haastrup, who narrated how his friend’s life took an unexpected turn.
According to him, the affected man, whom he once knew to be financially stable, suddenly reached out, requesting financial assistance. Puzzled by the situation, he inquired further and was stunned to learn that his friend had been forced to leave the UK after his wife revoked his visa dependency.

The friend, who had worked alongside him in the UK, had reportedly funded his wife’s education and supported her until she secured a job. The couple, who share two children, had appeared to be doing well before the abrupt separation. However, the circumstances leading to his wife’s decision remain unclear.
Expressing his heartbreak over the situation, @Row_haastrup shared his dismay, recalling how his wife also reacted with disbelief upon hearing the story. He questioned the morality of expelling someone from the country, especially when children are involved, and argued that unless there was a case of abuse, the more humane approach would have been to allow him time to secure his own visa before any legal separation.
The story has since sparked widespread debate, with many online users condemning the wife’s actions while others speculated on possible underlying issues.
