Residents of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, have rescued a seven-year-old boy, Jomiloju, from his 23-year-old uncle, who allegedly attempted to use him as a human sacrifice for a money ritual.
The suspect, identified as Fabiyi Solomon, admitted in a viral video that he had planned to sacrifice Jomiloju in a bid to gain wealth.
“My name is Fabiyi Solomon. I am 23 years old, from Ayedun in Kwara State, but I was born in Ado-Ekiti. My parents are at home. I came here for a money ritual. I was told to bring someone for the sacrifice, and I offered my nephew,” he confessed.
“I was assured he wouldn’t die, only fall sick. I promised to take care of him. His name is Jomiloju. He is my sister’s son. He is seven years old.”
This alarming incident highlights the increasing prevalence of ritual killings in Nigeria, where individuals—driven by desperation and the false promise of instant wealth—turn to human sacrifice.
As economic hardship worsens, cases of ritual-related crimes continue to rise, fueled by misinformation and the pursuit of quick riches.
